I’m an award-winning journalist specializing in religion reporting and digital entrepreneurship.
For over a decade, I’ve pursued stories that have led me from the decks of cargo ships in New Jersey to heart-pounding police chases in Albuquerque. I’ve ascended dusty church bell towers in Texas, navigated the bustling streets of New York and brought readers the voices of those in tent cities in Haiti.
With a career spanning newspapers across New Mexico, Texas, Connecticut and Washington, my dedication to truth-telling and storytelling has left an indelible mark on the world of journalism.
Currently, I work full time as a scholarly associate professor at Washington State University’s Edward R. Murrow College of Communication. I also serve as the executive director of FāVS News, a digital journalism startup dedicated to covering religion news and commentary throughout the Pacific Northwest. As a freelancer, my writings resonate nationally, and I’m a trusted reporter and columnist for The Spokesman-Review and the Moscow-Pullman Daily News.
